Superior National Forest Proposal For Protection

The public comment period for a proposal by the U.S. Forest Service to withdraw 234,000 acres of land in the Superior National Forest (in the Rainy River watershed and adjacent to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Wilderness in northern Minnesota) from potential mining activities. An excerpt from the proposal is attached.

The deadline for Public Comment is the end of February 28th. I'm not hear to argue for or against the protection of this land from mining activities but just dig into it yourself and make an informed comment if you wish.
