Nope I was way off. I was thinking Shawnee NF in southern IL.

Lots of birds showing up at the wma across the street, yesterday took the kids for a walk, wind and sun at my back, pretty bull sprig setting up for an epic shot in the sunset and wah! Wah! Wah! Battery died. This was the last one as he was setting to turn in to the sun/wind, another 30 seconds and 10-12 shots and I woulda had a printable photo for the wall.

Funny how similar a place can look, even if its hundreds of miles away. I need to make it over to the Shawnee this year, it looks beautiful from the pics I have seen.

She has been a once in a lifetime dog on upland birds, now I guess she is a squirrel hunter too. One squirrel shakes the bird feeder the other gets to eat.
