I don't actually know what a calf bull looks like, but my guess is it's a yearling! They are pretty small nubs

I’ve seen stranger things. I once talked to a biologist who explained how brittle antlers can be in certain areas/years just based off of a lack of certain minerals in the environment that particular year.

Probably unlikely now that I think deeper. But I can’t says I’ve seen “nubs” with edges that severe, they seem a lot more rounded off usually.

In any event that’s a cool photo!
