While watching Randy's day by day Coues hunt, I am thoroughly impressed by Marcus and Randy's ability to stalk within bow range in that rocky terrain with boots on.
Starting this year on my southern NM archery I hunt I decided stalking in thick socks was the best (aka only) way to stalk within range. Surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I initially feared though the worst was trying to quickly cover ground back to my boots. Those rocks hurt!
While glancing through the photos of the Gordon buck hoopla I noticed the hunter had a pair of vibram toe shoes on his pack. Has anyone here tried these? Any other ideas?
