Wow those are pretty sweet. Me and the boy just dug a nice sized maple burl out of the ground that was growing right at ground level. Had it sawed up and intend to do a little project of learning to stabilize with acrylic and a vacuum chamber. I told him whatever he can sell is his money. Did you do the stabilizing yourself?

Spook I haven't made any matching strikers. I've turned African blackwood gor strikers. African blackwood is thebezt wood I've found for striker's.
Might be a good idea to checking it. The problem with spalted maple is it's soft and needs hardening.

Did you use vacuum? Lots of vids on youtube, it looks like another fun hobby I have little time for.
