Anyone have first hand experience of how bad the blowdown is in the Southern end of the winds after the 2020 wind storm? I have seen pictures of the trails from the forest service and checked out trail reports. How about off trail travel is it widespread? How bad is it? I dont mind some blowdown but have heard that it is almost impossible to navigate.

Thanks for the links, I have read those trail reports. Trying to interpret when they say a trail is impassible until crews can clear it, so off trail is it a pain in the a$$ to travel or is it truly not possible. I frequently hunt areas with some pretty bad blow down and can manage, but there is some blowdown that you physically cant or really dont want to climb over/through especially packing meat solo.

The main trails have been cleared, or had work arounds.

My friends have the Big Sandy lodge and they were able to get their season done this year. I don't know just how bad off trail travel is though.
