I bow hunted south Dakota 5 years ago and had a blast was on private land that time, I want to head back to western SD but rifle this time. Maybe its just me but it seems the SD game and fish website stinks compared to other western states as far as draw stats etc. Couple questions how is it for public land hunting out there and what is the wait for a non res I thought it was min 2 years but cant seem to figure it out based on there website.

I am very familiar with the website and the drawings and whatnot and can help you out. I can also show you some pretty decent public hunting if you want. Archery licenses are guaranteed, but I imagine it's going to take you about three years to get the general nonresident license. Here is the link below to the drawings statistics for you to do some research. I would stay in the Northwest corner of the state. Just my opinion.
