Son's first deer

My 8 year old son's first deer - he got it last week on our farm. I have no rules for kids on our place other than they have fun but he was bound and determined to let any small buck as well as does that had yearlings with them walk. In my 40+ years of hunting this was by far the greatest night I have ever spent in the woods.

Hunting with him and my daughter remind me every trip out of why we hunt; and I can think of no better way to strengthen the father / son / daughter bonds that society will test.

That is great! Gotta love taking a late season Ohio deer. Great job too Dad getting them involved, you'll remember this one forever, so will they. Just curious, cross bow I assume?
