Something Fishy....AZ deer

a friend just sent me some second hand trail camera photos from last week.

They are from Arizona, and the deer are Mule Deer, and they are still packing antlers.

Seems Late to me. The blacktails here have shed already...

Please set me straight if I am off base.

I have seen 4x4 bucks with antlers in CO in April. I think the southern deer tend to shed a little later, even.

2rocky, Oaker is 100% correct. A lot bucks South of the Grand Canyon will lose Antlers from March thru the end of April.

Think about it, them desert deer don't rut until January. A second cycle doe might push them even into early Feb. They need those horns later than most other deer. They do everything a little later, so it stands to reason that they would shed later too.
