Well, this rifle deserves more use than I have given it. It pains me to see it in the vault every time I reach in there. This is a rare rifle, as Remington didn't make too many of these .257 WBY Mag in the Model 700 CDL. This one is stainless and fluted. It has maybe 100 rounds through it. It took two antelope and two deer, and made it look way too easy.

It comes with a Leupold VX-7 in a 2.5-10 x 45mm, with flip up scope covers.

Trigger was set by a gunsmith to 2.5#.

I really don't want to part with this, but it never gets any use. I have some others I will be putting for sale in the next week. Prefer to sell locally and avoid the hassle of FFL, but would consider selling out of the area if it was worth the hassle.

Following post will have more pics and the ammo that will come with it.

The walnut it top notch and has no scratches.

There is a small scratch on the forend from when a bipod was mounted, but quite negligible.

I would prefer to sell to someone who could pick it up and not have the hassle of shipping and FFL, etc. But, I would consider doing that if the price offered was commensurate with the headache. I would also hold it for an out-of-area buyer who would arrange pickup at a later date.

Whoever buys it will be required to swear they will us it more than I did. It deserves more time in the field.

You know I coveted this rifle when I watched you kill a WY lope with it…

I was wonder where those strange fingerprints came from. It did a great job on that buck. A year later, @stillkickin watched me use it just across the highway from that one. And, if I recall, he may have also shot his buck with it, so there my be three antelope taken with this rifle.

Here are the specs on the scope - https://www.chuckhawks.com/leupold_VX7_2-10.htm

For the entire package, rifle, scope, mounts, and 220+ rounds of ammo, I am asking $2,200. Given what just the rifles have been selling for on the rare occasion one comes for sale and the cost of ammo at $3.00-4.00 per round, that seems to be a pretty good deal.

Well, that didn't take long; sold to a long-time Hunt Talker. When Fin gets in the mood to clean things out, it is best to be paying attention.

Next up will be a Browning X-bolt in a .300 Win Mag that carries a Zeiss Victory 2.5-10x50mm. It has less than 50 rounds through the tube and was used on three elk hunts. One shot fired at an elk and one dead elk. No ammo to be provided with that one.

I've got a few more stacked up here that are going to hit the classifieds in the next few days. Trying to get down to a number of rifles that doesn't give Mrs. Fin so much leverage when we get into discussions about who is the biggest hoarder. Her crankbait collection rivals my firearms collection.

Congrats to the buyer. Doesn’t get much prettier than than the CDL SF.

Have any once fired brass for that your holding onto by chance?

I'm not sure if I should watch the threads closely or log off for the next few days.
Stand by. I'm in the selling mode. Even got a few with tags still on them that could hit the marketplace. And, a bow with the tag still on it.

Figure if I can get rid of some of my "debris" (if rifles and bows are considered "debris"), maybe I can convince Mrs. Fin into downsizing and getting rid of this "too large" house we are burdened with.
