I've noticed folks on here have been asking amount the snowpack in the northern Rockies. This (http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/snow/) is a great resource if you're interested in figuring out how much snow is in your hunting/fishing/skiing area and how those levels relate to long-term averages.

This the link I use to keep track of Colorado's snowpack, sure wish the upper Rio Grande would get to normal for once so I can duck hunt Alamosa again!

Good info there. The Snotel Site is 300 above our cabin so we have a pretty good idea when we are thinking about snowmobiling in during the winter and are able to know about when we can drive in during the spring. Nice that you can create your own reports even down to hourly/daily.

The OP's tool is flat awesome. In my opinion, it's most effectively implemented by looking at historical snowpack trends. Which drainages opened up first in other heavy snowpack years similar to this one? Which drainages were completely snow free in years of low snowpack? The current modeled snowpack distribution is nice, but learning from historical trends is quite insightful!
