Practice shell preservation. I learned a lot. Next one should be better. I have two 35-40 pounders scouted, and heavy tackle ordered to trap them.

Not a great picture last time so I took it outside. The shellac I sprayed on it really reflects the light.

What was your process?

Flesh it out
Soak in water for a week to loosen remaining flesh
Remove remaining soft tissue
Plastic brush and dishsoap to scrub off algae
Toothbrush and toothpaste to touch up and get in the grooves
Heat gun
Construction adhesive for a sheen, seal, and richer tone
Sun bake 2 days to cure and eliminate odor
