Snake river cut

I took the family camping in the gros ventre river last weekend. Fishing in the gros ventre itself was ok if you were sneaky. But taking a hike up some of its tributaries proved well worth the walk. The fish averaged around 11 inches, but we caught several in the 14 inch range, and my son caught this 17 inches right by camp.

I love those SRCs. When I worked as a tech, we got to see some beauties electrofishing. They used to get stocked all over outside their native drainages, and we'd see a lot of descendants from those decades old stocking events that occurred before they put an emphasis on cut restoration in their native drainages.
