Went out this afternoon for a quick shoot and bagged a little Canada with an interesting Head/neck and other parts of his body. Never bagged one like this before
For us this year was a very low numbers year for geese, when the geese come in good we get lots of those Canadas, we've always called them cacklers or cackling Canadian geese.
nice. The hunting /weather hasn't been the best this year. I have shot a ton of geese over the years and never shot one of these. . .nice. Are they about the same size as regular?
It is definitely one of the species housed under the Cackling Canada Goose subspecies. That being said, the white feathers can be indicative of a lot of things including stress, damage to the feathers and regrowth, and sometimes age.
