That’s it, that’s the message. However much help you think your gun is going to be you are likey wrong. I shot mine some yesterday and wasn’t impressed with myself LOL. Spend some time shooting and make an honest decision about how effective you think you can be with a bear running at you.
 
Good reminder. Also important to shoot it with the ammo you are going to carry in it. Yea those hard cast or whatever you chose typically come in a smaller, much more expensive pack than the 50 round target pack, but you need to know two things. 1. You can still shoot accurately with the increased recoil impulse and 2. the pistol will reliably feed and cycle that ammo.

I have a g20 I trust a lot. Shot it thousand and thousand of rounds without a hiccup. Last year before bear season I almost didn't shoot it but at the least minute did. It was jamming on the hot loaded stuff, ended up needing to replace the recoil spring, luckily I had a spare laying around. Even if you shoot a lot and are confident in your equipment, always check!
