In Chipper Jones...we experimented with clacking rocks to see if it would draw the attention of Chipper. Hoping he'd think they were rams butting.

@Gerald Martin having never watched rams fight in person, it's intriguing to me how these guys time their charges. Seems like one of the two walks in a circle informing the other that "I'm coming at you". Super impressed by the one ram that actually walks up hill on his hinds.

I think a lot of it is sparring between equally matched sub-dominant rams. Also similar to chest thumping and similar expressions of frustration among juvenile males who are hoping to get lucky and don’t have much chance.

Very cool. We were down in Hells Canyon in August and watched a group of rams with a couple of them doing some light head bumping.
