Oh, I hear ya!!
I run CNC for a living.
Seen people bring in some strange stuff!
Then get pissed because their specialty one off part with the blueprint in their head is going to be more than $20 to make.
Not thinking about it's a business, it cost money to just turn the lights on. Never mind that each machine is over $100,000. Or that each insert is $17. The computer program that lets us model the part and tells the CNC what to do costs money for the licensing.
Add to that the employees want to be paid.
I've even told my best friend to find someone with a mill in their garage to do some one off stuff for him, we couldn't do it for what he wanted to pay.
