I got this guy yesterday. Actually, my buddy did most of the work, my job was to pull the trigger. He came from over a quarter mile, but tried to get around me when he got in close. I had to swing around on him and he kicked it in. Fortunately the Benelli was a little faster than him.

Of course Axl was present. A little bigger bird than he is used to, but he put up with it.;)

We put some birds to bed last night and I was in the blind with the bow this morning. Unfortunately, the wind was terrible this morning and the birds just holed up. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Looks like Axl has his nose up in the air thinking he's better then retrieving a bird like that :) Kudos man !

Congrats on the bird, and great pics. I guess they didn't get 5' of snow in that area of SD.

Not too far from there they did. Here is what Sturgis looked like two days after the storm.

Not exactly the famous Main Street view you may have seen in the past.:D

Nice bird Craig. Didn't know you were in town. Good luck sticking a tom.

So far 2 birds have fallen to my efforts. Should of had a 3rd with a bow....had a jake strutting at 20 yards, tried a head shot and whiffed it. I need to post a couple pics.

The storm kicked us in shorts at work (electric utility). Deadwood had 4-5 feet with 15 foot drifts.

Way to go Miller! Looking forward to seeing the bow-bird too.
No luck with the bow. Just my luck, got more snow and cold before I had to hit the trail back to MT. I will be back next month on some other business and can hopefully make it happen.
