Scouting and Prarie Dogs

Want to go to wyoming to go on a scouting trip in late july or august just wondering if it would be worth while to bring a rifle along and try for some prarie dogs. I hear you dont need a lic and sounds like most ranchers out west want them gone just thought it might be a little fun. Anybody tried it?

Hell yeah bring a gun. Getting permission to shoot on someone's land can be iffy at times, but if you've got public land you're scouting for antelope, chances are there's gophers on it too. If you haven't shot them before, it's a blast.
