It’s great to have someone around that likes the outdoors as much as I do. Bronson had his rifle and fishing pole on the porch, ready to go when I picked him up at 8:00.

The rancher guided us to a pasture he had just plowed up and said the gophers were everywhere. The weather wasn’t perfect, but he was right, there were gophers everywhere.

I shot with a 17 HMR and a suppressed 223, Bronson shot a lever 22 with no scope. He was hitting them at a regular basis, which is a testament of good eyes.

After a few hours, we headed down to the creek and caught some decent Cutthroat and Brook Trout.

I wore him out and this morning I’m sore all over…

It was really small water and he wasn’t getting any bites on worms. So he switched to a lure and I told him to stick with worms in the backwater and slow pools.

I’m downstream and caught a few on worms, the. I hear him yelling for me to see what he caught. It was a real nice cutthroat, so I put on a spinner and caught 4 more fish myself.

You have to admire youthful exuberance…

Love the old school fish stringer. Just like my Grandfather taught me over 50 years ago. mtmuley
