Our family makes an annual excursion to Salmon Idaho every 4th. I grew up there until 9th grade. We camp, fish, float, swim, parade, and go to the demo derby. It is a wonderful mountain town and I have lots of fond memories hiking the mountains as a kid. If you haven't had the chance to travel through or hunt and fish this area you should put it on your list. Here are a few picts from the trip. They have a great rifle range there and I make it a habit to take my rifles to make sure things are on. Bozeman doesn't have squat for public ranges. I took the little guys and the family. My wife got a Golden Boy 22 for her birthday one year and so we all shot that.

One of the Big events is the demolition derby. Nobody misses the event. They start them young as you can see. Poor little guy couldn't stay awake or maybe the ear muffs pulled his head back too much. You get all types out at this event, Usually not the best of Salmon. Had a lady standing up pregnant sucking down a cigarette in front of everyone. Lots of tramp stamps and underwear shots when your sitting in the stands. Some of it reminded me of that "people of walmart" video I showed.

Thanks for posting Bart.

We were camping down by Mammoth Mountain this weekend. Went water skiing one day and snow skiing the next.

Looks like Bridger could be left eye dominant according to the picture.

I end up in Salmon a few times a year. I would have to agree about the people of Walmart part, sit in the Burger King for a half hour or go to the "big" store behind the BK and people watch. I know some great people from there but they are by far the minority.
