I am helping a widow friend who owns a knife her husband owned that she is trying to sell. It is a Ruana skinning knife, hand-crafted in Bonner, Montana, in the late 1990s. From what I can tell on the internet, these things have some value as collectors' items, especially if they are stamped Bonner, as this one is. From what we can tell, it seems $600 is a fair price. Mint condition. Never used. Let me know if you're interested.

I have the smaller model, same case and smaller handle. It was a special gift given to me at elk camp as a kid in the late 90s. That's a little bigger than what they call the "smokejumper," which was the original make the first Montana smokejumpers used. Your price sounds about right to me; heck of a find. Hope someone gifts it to a kid like I was.

That is a new condition knife and worth every penny. I have one which I lost dressing out an elk then found again the next year. They are great knives and a Montana tradition.
