Rock Chucks are out......Spring is here?

Snow is finally gone here and rock chucks are chirping like crazy today. Was sighting in on this guy, when my wife reminded me I am not allowed to shoot the ones I can see from the deck......daughter has named them

Do you end up with any snakes under your deck during the summer when it is hot?

See them once in a while stretched out across the road or driveway, but have yet to have one up close to the house. Probably just a matter of time.....

Speaking of stretched out in the roadway...... Back in the late 50's, early 60's, trips back and forth from Blackfoot to Howe and Arco to visit grandmothers dad would throw on the brakes, back up and do it again if he saw a rattler in the road to make road pizza out of them and collect the rattles if he didn't mess them up. Then he would take the canvas water bag off the mirror to wash his hands, everybody would have a drink and a pee and continue on. Those were the OLD days growing up.
