I am down to about 35 rounds of my magic .264 Win Mag load with RL-26 and 118HHT Hammers.

I will soon need to work up new loads for 6.5 WBY RPM with 125HHT.

My research is pointing me to Viht N565 as the best replacement. I have had good luck with my new workups using Viht powders.

I'm wondering if anyone has done any specific work to replace RL-26 yet. What were you finding?

I'm reading Hammer's load data today looking at other options. I have a few of these powders in the cabinet.

N560 to N570 each having slightly different burn rates. N570 may be the closest of the bunch to RL26 but N565 is probably better for your application

Steve at Hammer might be able to walk you through the best option

I switched to 4831sc (in my 7 mag) because I couldn't find any other vihtavuori powders available. I pretty much got the same results as my RL26 loads.

N560 is the first that comes to mind. I'd think N565 is a little slower burning with less velocity potential depending on the application.

I've been looking into this as well. What I've found is that it seems that N560 provides greater velocity potential, but N565 is more temperature stable, cleaner burning and generally provides greater accuracy potential. I'm starting with N565 and will try N560 if I'm not loving what I'm seeing in my 7PRC.

I've been seeing RL23 recently.
Slightly faster burning than RL26.
But a good powder also.
Have heard that Powder Valley has it with free hazmat.

I cant call them "replacements" but due to the lack of 26 my two 7prc 20" brl powders ended up being H1000 with a 180 bullets at 2825 and N570 with 175s. at 2790.Both accurate but slower than 26 would have been.

The last time I got an in-stock alert for RL-26 at my local store I got there too late. It was all gone in about 3 hours. The consolation prize was two pounds of RL-23.
I still have 2lbs of RL26 on my shelf.

I heard about Powder Valley having some last week, and thought I'd check on my local wholesaler/distributor to see what they were charging for it back when they last had it. I was surprised to find out that they had some in stock and it is going for $53.85 per pound.
I bought 3. 😁

My magnums are happy again!

Been running N560 in my 300 HH and 338 Jarrett. Getting the same velocity as with RL 26, using 180s and 250s with no problems. Accuracy is just as good. In both those cartridges I have pushed them quite a bit faster using N560 but neither rifle cared for the extra speed. N560 is getting hard to find, I searched far and wide for two pounds. Hopefully it is here this week. Leave for Africa in two weeks. Need ammo. Three shots a couple days ago at 300 yards with my Pham tuned #1 in 300 HH. My windage needs a touch but come ups confirmed the velocity using the N560. The biggest change from Rl 26 was moving from .10 off with the Nosler Accubond to .07 off the lands.
