RL 16 and 7mm-08?

Here is a few I did. RL16 is very good powder , most temperature stable powder on the market.
120gr Barnes TTSX WLR primer, Starline case, 3018FPS SD 11.1 OAL 2.750

120gr Nosler Ballistic Tip WLR primer Win case 2.800 OAL, 3017 FPS SD 10.5

130gr Speer CCI 250 primer win case, 2.750 OAL, 2962 FPS

140gr Accubond WLR primer, Starline case, 2877FPS SD 10.6

RL17 and PP2000mr and Big Game will give 100FPS to 150 FPS more, Bur are not as temperature stable.

That is out of my TIKKA with 22.4" barel.

I’ve tried it, but didn’t like how compressed the loads were. Big Game gave me better velocities and I’ve never had any issues with temp stability.

I'll ditto the tried it, didn't like it.
Very bulky powder.
Does better in a case with a little more volume. 284 Win, 280 Rem.
Didn't care for it in those either though.
Recoil impulse is really sharp, and more intense. Hard slap instead of a push.

RL17, Big Game, 6.6 Staball all do well in the velocity game in 7mm-08.
H414/W760, the 4350s, and Alliant PP2000MR all shoot well.
Most consistant went to Alliant PP2000MR. ES-6, SD-2 from a 10 round string.

I searched Hard for it, for months. Finally found a pound and spent way too much money. Loaded up a batch a 'hopeful Powerhouses" and ran straight to to the range....

Total waste of time & money....same as RL-19. Gifted both away to a friend, who gifted both away to some others wasting ammo.

After RL-16/19 was when I quite trying to chase the velocity/accuracy holy grail.

Varget, or RL-15, is all I load now. No sense in wasting time and money for no reason.

I had good number with RL16 but ended up with was apparently way over book max and had to use a droptube to get it all in the case.

Staball 6.5 seems to be what my rifle likes with Etips

I've had some pretty good results with RL19 in .270 and .280 Rem. I've heard others say what you just said, but that sure hasn't been my experience with it. RL19 with a 130gn Fed TBT is particularly good in my .270.

100% honest I have never checked the speed.
I'll check the load when I get home to see how many grains I use.
My brother just got a chrono when its not so blasted cold I can check.

I think it is one of the most versatile powders on the Market. It will be my go to powder for my 7mm-08 with 120gr TTSX . Also works great in my 270 win,30/06 up to 150gr and in my 338 win mag with 210gr Nosler Partition at 2983 FPS. I recommend a lot.
