Those old duck commander videos are gold, especially when Phil and some others are spitting Copenhagen non stop. I watch them with my boy and tell him, now that’s what real duck hunters look like like. If your cope spit ain’t ending up in your beard, are you really even hunting?

My brother went to a BBQ with the DD guys. Not sure if Phil was there. He said they were authentic and a lot of fun to be around. Sometimes your heroes are not the same when you meet them in person. This time they were, for him at least.

I know a guy who used to hunt ducks with him back in the day and he said that Phil didn’t stop shooting ducks for the day until he was out of shells or the ducks stopped flying and he always brought extra shells….

Hopefully there’s no limits in heaven…..RIP

In one old video he cartwheeled a doe that was running through the duck decoys in about a foot of water. So that took some skill.

Loved that scene! Heard a rumor that the boys went and turned themselves in for not wearing blaze orange when they shot that doe. Paid the fine, kept the doe, and probably kept doing that over and over. I mean, they had a rifle in a duck blind…

That sounds like a rumor. I'd bet money that they didn't "turn themselves in" . Not sure if orange was even required then and there.
