. Rifle Cleaning Frequency in the Field

Generally I will wipe it down and run a bore snake down the barrel. More to get moisture out than anything. If it’s dry I rarely do anything on multi day hunts.

Depends on where I am at and what I am doing. Hunting old burns leaves ash on the gun. It needs cleaned off fairly often. I have a ruger alaskan with black that was not cleaned off till after we got back to civilization and it is permanent now despite working at cleaning it pretty good. Since then I wipe daily. I take with me a bore snake and individually packaged rem oil wipes. If it doesent rain at all and there is no other moisture or dirt I can let it go a couple days. Remote hunts always involve stainless or coated guns.
