Exactly. This point has been made repeatedly here withdocumentation..and that includes video, and now hundreds and growing numbers of judges ordering detainees to be released.

Corrupt, Liberal Judges are a problem as well.

I wouldn't be happy if random citizens were blocking roads and harassing people doing their jobs either.

Some of us read that similar officers go into other cities/states without much of an issue. I could be wrong, but there seems to be something very specific about Minneapolis/MN.

I don't have a problem with deporting people who entered the country illegally. I do have a problem with how it is being done. Where it gets complicated is when they have been in the country for a long time. They get married, have children, and have woven themselves into a community.

I think that the aggressive, at times violent, tactics are a feature, not a bug in the ICE operations. The miscalculation was the administration thought that public sentiment would be with them. They did not leave the Twin Cities because the mission was completed. They left to staunch the political damage it was causing.

It seams logical if they have a detain order and are in police custody they should not be released to let ICE chase them. That alone would save tax payers money and ICE having to go in and get them from the neighborhood. Might just be me. Just my thought when I read about these cities refusing to allow LE to cooperate. Logically you can't say if you want them go find them then complain about the presence. It wasn't needed if you hadn't released them. I am sure this is not every situation. But it could resolve a portion.

ICE's presence in Chicago did not go well either.

Maybe, just maybe it is on both the feds and the state and local authorities to come to some sort of agreement, before you send in thousands of masked quasi law enforcement/ military personnel.

If the goal is to deport undocumented people, maybe start with the lowest fruit on the tree. Then go to the more difficult situations. Public sentiment might have been different if they had removed a few million, without incident, then had to deal with less cooperative locations.

I think the Twin Cities was chosen for a few political reasons. Trump has extreme distain for Ilhan Omar. The fraud case involves the Somali community. Trump also dislikes the governor. It most definitely was not an efficient use of public funds. The cost per person apprehended was very high.

Idaho estimates 28,700 illegals with most working in Ag. Economic loss to the state if all illegal ag workers are removed is $5.1B. Great Recession level economic loss.

Theres are fundamental misunderstandings here. Law enforcement authority and standard practice misunderstandings.

Immigration law violations are civil, not criminal...violations. As such, local law enforcement often has no authority to enforce them.

Criminal violations are criminal no matter whether it involves an immigrant or not. All LE agencies can and do enforce them...on immigrants. If they arrest someone on a criminal violation they also routinely notify federal immigration officials if they know the person is an immigrant without legal papers allowing them to be in this country.

When immigrants jailed on criminal violations serve their time, federal immigration officials are notified before they are released. Local LE releases those here illegally to the Feds all the time.

All of this was happening and never changed even in MPls and St. Paul!

The Trump administration repeatedly lies about this. There always was, still is, and will be in the future cooperation on "the worst of the worst" criminals.

They want more than that.

As the taxpayers of Maricopa county AZ how that turns out.
