Not the same at all. If my friend tells me something that they saw with their own eyes, or I see it with mine, I generally view that as truth. I don't have to go ask a media outlet if what I saw is what I saw.

What I see often we actually saw in this thread.

Someone said they knew of ballot fraud in a state. But the states procedures for handling ballots make the fraud that was claimed essentially impossible. I posted those procedures, still didn't matter.

This is repeated all over. Trump has convinced people fraud is there, they do not go out and check how ballots and the voting process is actually handled--which eliminates most of the fraud people claim is occurring, and round and round we go.

It's not that there isn't any fraud, there is--but the amount is so small that it almost never effects election results.

But even there if fraud that could have swayed a close election is found, that is dealt with.

Court after court has tossed out claims of major election influencing fraud as being non factual when people without a preconceived bias look into it.

Regarding this issue--the biggest issue affecting election integrity isn't fraud--it's republican attempts to not count lawfully cast ballots that don't help their candidates--or more accurately, attempts to toss out lawfully cast ballots that come from groups that traditionally do not vote for republicans.

The comment wasnt meant that way. All it was for is to point out the hypocrisy of people. That they dont care about the actual thing happening they care about who is doing them. If its their team or not their team dictates their stance on it.

And for what’s its worth, things did get zany during the viral times, especially even after we understood it better. Just seems a shame that folks couldn’t meet in the rational middle without going to either extreme. I suppose I feel the same way about immigration issues today.

But, back to my earlier point in the original comment that got us going back and forth, I think a lot of people who support the President’s policies today would still be pretty pissed if Biden, Obama, whoever the other guy is, was doing the same. So yeah, perhaps it is just perception. Personally, I’m extra pissed about the surveillance state and the suspension of some fundamental rights. And would be so even if a frail old Mother Theresa was in charge.

Maybe if we put 332 billion into education and 79 billion into DHS instead of the other way around we could get more bang for our buck in terms of a reduction in violent crime?

Not sure how many of the 10% simply work too many hours to get a valid ID, but let's just say for sake of argument its all of them. Maybe we could just include a federal requirement for employers to provide leave time for voting and obtaining valid ID. Most states already have the requirement of voting time just add the ID acquisition time so you and the other 30 million hard working US citizens don't have to tell work to piss off.

Are people dead because of illegal immigration or are they dead because humans murder each other? And no, your statement was completely irrelevant to people sacrificing civil rights for a safer society.

If you lose a basketball game cause the ref let 7 guys play for the opposing team did you lose because the refs didnt enforce the rules or because 7 is better than 5 or both? Id say both. Just like id say both in a case of someone getting raped and mutilated to death by an illegal alien because the prior administration didnt enforce the rules pertaining to the border at all and humans murder each other. In both scenarios id say if rules were enforced the odds go way down for losing the bball game and getting murdered by an illegal alien.

You made a leap from what I posted. Don't add a hidden meaning to it. Just a reminder of what I actually posted ...

We really don't know how many noncitizens are voting, and we also don't know how many people voted in multiple states. We currently have no way to figure it out.

I know that multiple ballots were sent to houses when the people had moved to another state already. There really wasn't any way to prevent someone from filling the ballot out and returning them.

I do know with certainty that at least one person working at one WA Licensing location encouraged noncitizens to register to vote almost 25 years ago. How many noncitizens were registered?

You are welcome to think it doesn't matter, but there are many elections that are won or lost by less than one percent. It doesn't take much to change an election.

Fwiw, nothing I knew about had anything to do with Trump. That's just a poor technique you are using to discount it.

You want to assume everything is done right. Maybe it is. I'm just pointing out that we have no way to verify it. There is no nationwide database to validate every vote is from a citizen and that each person only voted once. On the other hand, we know at least some people have voted that shouldn't have. I don't see why it's not worth the effort to make sure we are getting it right.

Have to agree with this statement. I don’t want a national database for voting just like I don’t want a national registry for firearms. If the Constitution guarantees that states run elections, I will support that, the same way I support that the Constitution guarantees right to bear arms.
