It seems to be how to jigger the Idaho residency laws while avoiding California taxes.

1000% agree. Things have gotten almost scary in parts of northern Idaho with people basically trying to out conservative each other. Without question my most conservative coworker moved farther north a few years back. He moved back to more central Idaho within a couple years because it was getting too conservative for even him

When we came here 30 years ago, we were more conservative than all our neighbors. Now I go to school board meetings and get called a liberal and a RINO. Too many people have been sold that the far right is the norm here. It used to be a lunatic fringe. Now I don't know.

We have this as one of our spots to try this year for mule deer going to try to come in from the east side. I found this post looking for info about the area but not much available for the WSA.

TT, so you think that if you are "outside of CA for more than 6 months" and put up a gate on the road through your Montana property to public land, then you are a Montana resident!

Not exactly, you need land to claim residency. My CPA says if this is the case, where you have land to live on, you have to be living out of CA for more than 6 months to declare residency in another state…so it’s not just being out of Cali…one can own land in every state, pretty much…

I’m fighting for my property in Cali first.
