This is my 2 rifle set up for pretty much everything. Top is a custom 9.3x62 built by AHR in Montana. It has a 2.5x8 Zeiss on it with QD rings. Bottom is a Browning Hi Power Safari grade 30/06. It has a Meopta 3x9 with a German #4 reticle. It also has QD rings/bases. I reload and I can use the same powders and primers for both. You can even fire form 9.3 brass out of 30/06. This minimizes the supplies I have to keep on my reloading bench.

If you guys had to just pick 2 rifles out of your safe, which would they be?

To pick two rifles I'd have to decide what I wanted more: cash value or function? Strictly function would be my M-Forgery and my 700 BDL in '06. Money-wise, it would be my full nickle 66 SRC and my 86 OBFMCB in 45-90 with 28" bbl.

Foxtrot,

I saw your post, and it made me think of two of my favorites.

Left: Kimber 84l Select grade 30-06; Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40 B&C Reticle
Right: Ruger 77 Safari Magnum 375 H&H; Schmidt & Bender Zenith 1-6x42 #4 German

Foxtrot, I want that 9.3! I can't post pics but I only have 2 centerfires in the safe right now. Decided to sell a couple to clear some room. Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 Stainless in 7mm Rem Mag and my late grandfathers 1945ish Model 70 in .30-06.

Good lord, that's a handsome pair. What're you doing hunting with plastic with those laying around?

beautiful pieces!!!! what have you taken with that 375?

Ethan

Unfortunately nothing but a dozen bowling pins and paper so far. I had a safari booked back in 2009, but Uncle Sam decided to move me to Camp Ripley upon return from a deployment, so the money for the safari went to the down payment on our cabin, where we were lucky enough to live for three years.

The .375 has killed 2 buffalo and various plains game in the hands of the previous owner though.

Foxtrot- That is a great pair!! Great looking rifles in very sensible cartridges! Well done.
