Exactly what year did Jesus think it was?

and how did historians date things befoe Jesus was born. They couldn't have said BC. And how many years after his birth did they start using the terms BC and AD???

I believe that it was DC

If the time before is BC, and the time after is AD, then it would have to be DC..During Christ

Whiskers.....The Babylonians had an early calendar which the Greeks copied, and then Romulus, the founder of Rome started a Roman Calendar (whuch Jesus would have used Elky)It was supposed to start year one with the founding of Rome (It would now be approximately year 2756 by the old Roman Calendar. Julius Caesar reworked the calendar in his reign and it became known as the Julian Calendar and in 325 A.D. it was adopted as the official calendar of the Roman Catholic Church....a couple centuries later they started reckoning years from the birth of Christ sometime in the sixth century.....Charlemagne made it official for the Holy Roman Empire in the 9th century, and it was modified by Pope Gregory in the 16th century to make it compatible with the 365 1/4 solar year, accounting for leap years, and it has been with us other ever since.
