Question for a taxidermist

Now, I've yet to take an animal that would be deemed a "trophy" to some people. So i have little insight on fully skinning an animal to be taken to a taxidermist. Do you prefer if a customer brings in a hide with the skull still attached so not to butcher the skinning job? Can I assume its quicker and easier to skin a skull properly then it is to fix the errors of a poorly done job.

I've asked a few local guys to me and all have said to allow them to finish the skull.

We can fix your cuts and holes but we can't fix rotten slippage. If you can't freeze it or keep it ice cold, better to cape it.

Glass eye nailed it. Nothing brings a hunter down faster than having to tell them their cape is no good. If you skin out the face just take everything you can as far as skin. Don't cut short around eyes, tear ducts, ears, nose and lips. A flat screw driver works good to pop/pry the shin from around horn bases.
