Quail Opener in AZ

Quail opens today here I'm gonna take off at 2:00 pick up the boy from school and wooohoo. Anyone else going or gone?

I tried to go today but no such luck.
By the time you read this you will be back and I hope you had fun.
Are you up for going tomorrow? Sat morning until 10-11am?
I am going sunday but need to get out tomorrow.

I went out near tonapah, and got 8, got stuck in the mud, but had a good time.

I went out this morning and saw only 4 aways from me. The flushed about 30+ yards going away and on the other side of some trees.
This was all out by Horseshoe lake and the area has gone down hill. No shots taken from 3 of us.
Going out tonight by aquila and try another area, hopefully better chances at getting a shot

Our season opens on Saturday. I'm trying to figure out where to go. Chukar also opens the same day, so it'd be nice to hit a quail spot, and then head higher to get into some chukar!

Sorry Allen I didn't see this till this morning. We got in to birds. No limits but it was a good weekend none the less. See my other Thread.

The quail hunting wasn't bad for us here this weekend. The dogs worked o.k. The younger dog we had worked better than the older dogs.
We had a mix bag this weekend- Gambel and we got into some scale quail also.
Looking forward to going out this weekend again....
