Proud Dad moments

My 16 year old (just turned in June) aced both her college algebra and English classes she’s taking over the summer as duel enrollment. She had been stressing about a compare and contrast essay she was required to write because the professor hadn’t provided good examples to follow. She got an email today from that same professor asking to use her paper as an example for future classes. It made me choke up a little bit for sure.

All three of my kids have gotten married and I have two darling grandkids from 2 of my kids and now my other kid is having a baby in Nov. But, hunting and fishing related my one daughter has always been the biggest outdoors person and excels at both. This summer she was in a local South Dakota walleye league that fishes on Wednesday evenings, with her husband and a friend. About 40 boats, 3 people per boat each tournament. 100-120 people every night. She was the only female in the league this year and pregnant as well. She caught the biggest walleye one night, 29 7/8" long and 8.4 pounds, and got $600 for that. Her big fish hung in there as the biggest of the entire season and she will now get another $1500 for that award. 💪 It doesn't come close to grandkids but it's the most recent proud dad moment.

Both sons are working for home builders learning construction this summer. Oldest one took a framing nail through the thumb after a recoil fire. Pulled the nail, poured peroxide over it, wrapped it up and finished out the day. Great learning experience, bet that doesn't happen again. Proud moment right there!
