I didn't see where they were going to raise any in R7.

I'm pretty sure FWP is highly dependant on private land preventing extinction of some species in this state.

If you add the north and south unit quotas together in 2025, we are at pre arctic winter die off tag numbers (2009). With what I would guess to be 1/3 of the antelope on the landscape maybe. Pretty scary. When you are out dodging bullets this fall keep that in mind. A lot of tags for a lot less animals. Puzzling.

I don’t have the numbers I’m shooting from the hip with my anecdotal evidence which means nothing especially to fwp. I can tell you things look a lot different now regardless of what fwp counts are. I’m 100% confident in that.

There population “estimates” are just that. It has very little to do with observed counts. No different than mule deer, same bullchit different species.

I have two buddies that only drew B tags, no buck, in the unit I normally put in for. Central MT not R7.

“Density from trend areas and extrapolated to hunting district” that is how they count antelope in region 7. They are shooting from the hip as well.

I was told the equation for how they arrive at their population estimates there was a lot of variables and observed counts is just one of them.

Wow! I put in for R7 north and didn't draw with 2 points (NR). Maybe I should have put in for the south side.

I didnt apply this year and glad I didnt. Good luck to those that drew. Those bios in Miles City seem controlled by the commision and MOGA.
