In an attempt to find where A LOT of sediment was getting pumping into a creek, went for a nice walk in the rain. Didn't take long to find the culprit.

This small un-named tributary essentially puked. Pretty good avalanche in a place where they normally don't occur caused quite a disruption. I think there was also a high intensity rain-on-snow event following.

Not a good time to go bush whacking, very soaked in the first quarter mile. Anybody want to test their rain gear, this is the place. The Swan Mtns.

Near the bottom, came from up around the corner to the left. Like a giant twisty fun slide. Would have been awesome to see this happen.

Then down around this corner

Look at how high the marks are on the trees. I guesstimated 25 feet up those trees.

Right down over this old gated road.

Neat how the debris insulates the snow so well, its all green and leafed out, but here is this snow left there, the creek is flowing under all the snow in the last pic.

I noticed lots of bear grass as well, must have fractured clear to the dirt, way up high.

Wow. Something tells me theres probably a few of those out in the hills this year.

I can't wait until the river comes down...its going to be like fishing a whole new place this year.

Very cool pics Draht. My Pops says there's lots of winter still left up in his country as well.

Wow, mother nature can be a powerful beotch sometimes!

Cool photos that would have been really interesting to see live! (From a distance anyway!)

Thanks for sharing those.
