Practicing every chance I get. I’ve shown good improvement in my consistency over the last few months. I hadn’t shot a bow for about 20 years until this spring. Hunting blacktail deer in western Oregon this year, and if I like it buying a better bow and hunting elk next year.

With archery, the highs are real high and the lows are real low. You’re shooting great. Best of luck this season. Will you use tree stands?

No tree stands. I may set up a ground blind in a friend’s property who has deer coming through almost daily. Other than that I’ll be setting up on the ground or spot and stalk. It’s western Oregon, so thick lush vegetation and lots of trees to hide behind.

I have had both shoulders reconstructed so I purchased a Hoyt Helix Compound, adjustable from 50-60lbs, added a hamskea arrow rest and a Spot Hogg Hunter sight. I absolutely love it, shooting straight and ready for this years archery season.
Best of luck whatever you decide.
