I have saved a couple that were tangled up in the fence in past years and still alive. It was western to say the least. At least I hoped they lived.

We had a thread on this a couple years ago, pretty common unfortunately. I have found numerous including elk but usually where fence wasnt maintained and was sloppy then animal got entangled.

Fences are for containing domesticated animals and deterring the honest people from trespassing where they have no right to be. Maybe we should remove all the trees also.

We see them hung in fences and trees too often. It's very sickening to think the pain they went through. I've also seen a cow that went through a windshield that killed both the people in the front seats.

Smooth wire top & bottom 42" max height and 16" above ground for the fawns on bottom help. Hog panel fencing kills many more than barbed wire around me. The ridgid 6" squares are deadly leg breakers.

It was quite a rodeo when we came upon a baby moose calf in Western Wyoming caught in a barbwire fence. Did you know a momma moose can roar just like a bear? Someone up thread said "Western"....Yeah Buddy.

Idaho Bighorns know the cliff edge trick. I saw myself one time on the Salmon river while Steelhead fishing.
