Just looking for opinions here. I just got back from scouting for my moose hunt that starts in one week (Sept. 15). I have two bulls spotted that are both "shooters" in my book. One has great width and extremely long points but his palms are not overly impressive. The other is not as wide and does not have long points but much better palms. I personally don't care about score. I think I know which one I will try for, just wondering what anyone else out there thinks. Thanks.

I'd say you definitely shot the right bull greeny if for no other reason than looks alone. I know I'd have made the same choice you did.

Yep, he got him. I gave him a disk full of photos and video of the bull last night. He was pretty happy with it. Rich went with and they got it all on video. They are packing meat out right now. I was out late last night with Rich, so I bet he's sweating it out pretty good. They took some great photos of that bad boy. That bull is a lot more impressive next to a person than another great big moose.

Kurt:

That's great. Matt owes you even more now than he did before.

I leave tomorrow morning for three weeks, so I guess I have to wait a while before I see some kill scene pics.

Rich is a good luck charm. Wonder if he wants to come to NM with me for my son's elk hunt?

Hope you get that big 'lope next weekend.

I better get back to loadin' the truck.

It would depend on the bull with the long points having somewhat of a palm, if he's spindly and no palmation I'd pass, but if not, give me the points. I think longs points look much better than a wide palm and stuby points.
