Paint

I was gonna say if I had to paint the whole house at once. I'd buy a new house.
The boss lady has given a pretty reasonable time table. I've been ordered to have the kitchen, dining room, and laundry room done before my spring hunts starting in early April. The living room, hallway, and outside before my fall hunts and the bedrooms and bathrooms once hunting slows down for the winter.

Your prolonging the misery lol. Wishing you luck partner. I dont have the patience for it.

Wouldn't it be more fun to just shoot paintballs at your house?
I thought the same thing, but I also remembered my kids are good at painting the wall. If you can look past the mismatched colors and the brush strokes going every which way I think you will be happy with their work. If you are happy with their work on the walls they specialize in painting custom cabinets and counter tops. @WildWill

Yeah I got a couple of my own "custom" painters.20260226_193708.jpg20260226_193731.jpg20260226_193734.jpg

Vinyl? Sorry Dave. Hard no. mtmuley
We have an old farmhouse that had asbestos shingle siding. State Farm said they were going to drop us unless we changed it. Cost too much to remove and dispose of the shingles but encapsulating was allowed. All we could afford at the time was the insulating sheets and siding over that. Doesn't look bad. 🤷‍♂️

Interesting. I don't know anything about asbestos abatement. I get the cost factor though. mtmuley

My wife told me I have a month to paint the bathroom or she’s going to do it. She knows how picky I am and she knows what a terrible painter she is. This is about the 5th time she’s used this threat on me since we’ve been together and I haven’t found a defense yet.

I just painted the entire house, inside and out, and stained and varnished all the trim and cabinets less than 4 years ago. Not sure why this bathroom needs paint all of a sudden, but apparently it’s urgent.

We did a few jobs removing asbestos siding. Hassle was disposal at landfill, but not hardly that bad.
Hose the wall down, and pry it off. Full Tyvek suit, booties, respiratory. Very little asbestos in that siding product but better to practice safety. OSHA would have probably had a fit.
All construction dust is bad....hardwood dust, OSB dust, cement products, for that matter.

There's a reason there is a large overlap between house painters and alcoholics. It's the worst but I have had good success with Sherwin-Williams when I've had to paint.

When we ripped out a bunch of (presumably) asbestos tile in our old kitchen, the “abatement” was “try not to breathe very deep.” 15 minutes of googling prior to starting said that the major risk is people with occupational exposure, not just the one-time encounter. 🤞
