I took a break from chores today and got in a little bird hunting. I could hear chukar down the river and was strapping the dog box to the 4wheeler when a rooster pheasant sounded off behind the house. We started up the slope after him and 200 yards later Ranger locked up. Nice big rooster. We continued on and got into chukar on a steep rocky ridge. Got one and by then I'd had about enough. On the hike back Ranger locked up and we picked up a quail. Good little hunt!
