Have several rifles I need to outfit with optics.
Marlin XS7. 308
Remington 700 BDL S/S -DM .270 win
Winchester Model 70 extreme tungsten 6.5CM
Browning X-bolt composite hunter 7mmRM
Now...there are several scopes ive been lookin at and id like yalls opinion. These will be deer and range guns.
At Midway USA there are a couole of Vortex scopes pictured below. Also, im contemplating Hawke or ive heard good things about Athlon. Or im thinkin, at least on the main rifle ill be using for hunting (undecided) to buy once....cry once and get the Leupold pictured. Id appreciate input if you have experience with any of these brands especially the specific model.
THANKS!!!Screenshot_20260722_143455_Chrome.jpg

Opinions?

Here's an opinion, soup and stew are the same thing and I'm tired of lying to myself about it. Both are delicious.

As for your scope question, buy once cry once for your main hunting rig if you're looking for anything more than shooting deer over a pile of corn, the rest can get cheaper optics.

I have used Leupold VX II and VX 3 but not the 4. I have liked all my Leupold scopes. The Vortex Diamond Back HP was a good scope for the money. I had a 3-12 for 9 years. Sent it in on warrenty and the replaced it with the 4-16. Thats the only Diamond Back HP they currently make. Not sure I would pay full retail but for the sale price would be good.

I will say I prefer the glass on my Leupold more than the Vortex. I have not tried the strike Eagle though.

A lot depends on the type of hunting you do, distances you shoot and if strictly a 'deer gun' or something to scale up to other game.
If it were me, I'd go Leupold all day, every day. The VX4 looks like a nice optic but don't overlook the VX3. The latter is a lot of scope for the money and would be a solid choice. Regardless of what you go with, do yourself a favor and contact @schmalts on this site for the best price and service you'll find anywhere.
I'd avoid the lower end Vortex models. I've nothing against Vortex but I only have experience with the Viper series and they have been ok.
I've no experience with the other brands you mentioned.

Don't forget TRACT. Excellent glass, same warranty as Vortex/Leupold and seem to dial fine.
