Older Original Lead Sled

All of that certainly makes sense. My thought was to be able to stabilize my rifle better to repeat point of aim. My problem is that I slip and slide all over my front Caldwell bags. I had 2 bags stacked and it was like stacking marbles so I went to a single bag on top of a chink of 2x12 and a 4x6 on top of that then using a single bag. I shoulder hold the stock as in normal shooting position. It's me that is the problem. I have trouble holding steady to check actual groups. I don't have any issues hunting as I can always find some sort of prop. For hunting I have a very good natural point of aim, for one shot. At 200 yds moment of baseball is just fine.
I'm going to try a front bipod and rear bag for support and see if that cures my issue with qualifying 3-5 shot groups

Don't put any weight in the sled and it'll work just fine for a front/rear rest at the range. If a scope comes apart from laying in an unweighted sled it was garbage from the get-go. Even my Leupold survived in an unweighted sled, conversely, an atv ride rattled it apart.

Funny about the atv rattling it apart. I have an $89.00 Bushnell that has been on a. Mini 14 on the front rack of my Fourtrax for so long it is actually turned gold from sunburn. It's every bit as accurate as it was coming out of the box.
