NW Wisconsin Ice Fishing

January started out fantastic with temps almost in the 40's and little snow meaning easy access on the lakes. Huge difference at the end of the month though as temps have been in the 20's and 30's below zero not factoring in wind chill. Supposed to improve this weekend though so hopefully I can restock the freezer as most of these guys were fried up or made into tacos





Personal best crappie through the ice, close to 15 inches


Anybody else been out ice fishing? Hoping to take a winter camping/ice fishing trip on some public land near my house next weekend.

I'm hoping I will be able to get this weekend locally for the first time this year. I looked at a pond last weekend that had close to 2" but we are not quite there yet.
