Nope smokers not allowed

Most here have the same policy. I cant tell you how many guys I've seen lose a good job because they couldn't just partake after hours. Nobody really gives a shit what you do after work but when you get out of the car in the morning and you reak like pot or your snorting blow in the port a potty. You're gone.
On the same note there are some companies where using drugs seem to be part of the company policy. Nobody I'm in a hurry to work for or with.

Totally agree. But what you do at home after work is your business. Whether weed or alcohol if your job performance is satisfactory then not an issue. But totally unacceptable on the job. I've seen a lot of morning drinkers in my construction journey. And worse. mtmuley

Then there are those painters who spray lacquer...

Came in to rough in a kitchen tile job once and the painter was spraying the ceilings, walls, floors, you name it. High as a kite.

I’ve noticed it with overlot grading companies a fair amount. Pipe companies not so much you can walk right up on your guys in the trench box or the hoe anytime and they know it. Scrapers running around 35mph not as easy to catch them.

Quite the opposite here lol. Sewer rats are notorious for drugs.

I’m sure there’s some here too but the pipe outfits seem to pay more than the dirt outfits and hold a little higher standard just generally speaking. The framers here couldn’t care less up setting trusses pounding modelos throwing the bottles off. Pretty bad. My ducks are in a row cause someday someone is gonna say hey OSHA wtf is this.

It sounds like I’m the only guy on HT who gets drug tested.

There is a lot of us I bet.

I’ve been federally drug screened for 20+ years.

I don’t/wont work with/for people who are under the influence of anything.

Agree with what you do on your time to some extend. However. Where I work everyone has company work trucks. Company policy. Zero is the amount of anything if driving a company truck. If friday beer on your way home is your thing drive your personal truck to work. No such thing as only 2 beers. This was after the local dive looked like our shop with trucks lined up at 4pm. If any of you have been to the Glacier View car launch you will see the Alaskan version of a 4th of July party. I dont believe there is any alcohol for sale. They make announcements regarding this being a family event. Keep you alcohol consumption to a minimum. In the mean time there is a weed wagon in between the French fry and hot dog trailers. 😀
Kinda made me wonder about the fact that 1/2 the attendees are military and could get tested.
