In all seriousness, how do these sheep rank in table fair ?

I got a decent ram that had a very pungent smell to him and it carried over to the meat and was not very tasty. But have had some younger Ewes which tasted totally fine and didn't have that smell.

They certainly have a mixed reputation, mostly bad for rams. I shot a ewe similar in size to mdjunkie's above, and it was very good, no off flavor. I have no experience with rams.

My ewe was amazing meat. Ate just like hamburger with a little beef suet mixed in. Haven't tried my ram yet but it wasn't as "rutty" as they can get so I have no doubt it will be delicious as well. I generally field dress quickly and get the meat cooled ASAP, so I can see how some people's experiences can differ if they kill these in the middle of the desert in the summer...
