NICE lid????

Is this a good addition on a Longbow? I am trying to decide if I want to make an impulse purchase and get one of these before I leave for Montana next week.

I'll have some gear lashed on the top, and was considering this option in lieu of the accessory straps.

It'll work, but makes getting access to the main compartment more of a pain. You can strap it over the top, or you can attach it so the pockets on the lid are vertical on the back of the pack, allowing stuff to be squeezed in between the pack and lid if the pack is full. The lid straps need to be tightened up all the way for a full longbow, so if you pack isn't full, the daypack lid is loose.. You'll be adding a lb of weight for 2 pockets allowing 900 more cu inches, with whatever could be sandwiched in between.

I've only used my lid with my longbow a couple of times. In the end figured I'd probably be better off with a larger pack...
