If you read the NYT article today, it implied that’s exactly what’s happening I’m afraid.Notably. Montana was left out. Better not be horse trading from our MT delegation.

Not going to cut it if that’s what they think. Might as well just include montana in the deal thanIf you read the NYT article today, it implied that’s exactly what’s happening I’m afraid.
I’ve actually had Dusty call me a couple times to talk about whatever it was I called him about. There are definitely far worse than Dusty. We'll see if any of the SD folks send back in this one.
Last time my rep, dusty, sent a canned email back which was in no way related to what I was conveying. Makes me think they don't even read the emails, or just assume it aligns with what they're trying to do anyway...
First you have to define "affordable". And that hasn't happened.Interesting to note that nowhere in the bill does anything refer to 'affordable housing.' Anyone have an idea of what specific lands they are looking at?
Last go around, in the house version, I emailed about leaving public lands public. His team sent the following back.I’ve actually had Dusty call me a couple times to talk about whatever it was I called him about. There are definitely far worse than Dusty.
Emailing Thune or Rounds doesn’t get much of a response. I do get phone calls returned if I call, typically.
I’ve also had good luck chatting up Rounds at the Y before he got on the elliptical, haha.
I’ve called them both twice today so we’ll see how that goes. Gotta lay it on thick.

Maybe anything that someone wants to introduce a bill for?Interesting to note that nowhere in the bill does anything refer to 'affordable housing.' Anyone have an idea of what specific lands they are looking at?
I did as well. I hope it does something, but I've written marshall in the past on both public land and veterans issues and nothing. I hope it at least gives them a pulse on th3 issue though.Senators Marshall, Moran and Congressman Estes emailed.
PS: shot one off to Lee as well
I've been hitting those two daily for awhile now. I don't even get a canned response. Going to be real hard to vote for them in the future if they go the wrong way on this. Here is the email I sent to Senator Risch of Idaho with the link from big fins podcast, thank for all you do Randy.
Dear Senator James E. Risch
As someone who enjoys public lands I respectfully ask you to remove Subtitle C-lands from the big beautiful bill. This goes against the American way of life. These public lands need to be protected because they are important to so many people in our great state of Idaho and throughout the country. Selling these will not solve any of the budget problems, just loose an asset that will hurt our country. I vote and have never been very active in politics, but this is one thing that will motivate me to become very active to protect and campaign for those who will protect our public lands and stand up against those who want to dispose of our public lands. I hope you will stand up for public lands and keep the big beautiful bill about the budget not for someone to add their wishes through a back door. You have the power to make me a stanch supporter or an advocate against you. Please don’t throw away or public lands. Sincerely Albert Cason
I need to e-mail Wyoming Governor Gordon too, it seems.I called both my senators offices last night and asked them to vote against this. I suspected they would anyway but wanted to let them know.
Did the BHA action alert today.
Probably right in the middle of calving or wintering areas.Interesting to note that nowhere in the bill does anything refer to 'affordable housing.' Anyone have an idea of what specific lands they are looking at?
The ones with great views and will go for a high price for second and third homes. Dont worry, its going to the other guys fault theres not affordable house from this bill, so theyll try again selling more public land.Interesting to note that nowhere in the bill does anything refer to 'affordable housing.' Train station.Going about my business at work, thinking about how cool it would be to give a certain Senator from Utah a guided tour and back country camping experience in a couple of local drainages with a high saturation level of grizzly bears. As the guest of honor he would be gifted with bacon pants as his hiking outfit and a bacon sleeping bag for the overnight camp out.![]()
Any Senator from any state can vote against or help remove the amendment from the bill.I don't live in one of the western states with "R" Senators
