Newest US Senate Land Sale Amendment

We'll see if any of the SD folks send back in this one.

Last time my rep, dusty, sent a canned email back which was in no way related to what I was conveying. Makes me think they don't even read the emails, or just assume it aligns with what they're trying to do anyway...
I’ve actually had Dusty call me a couple times to talk about whatever it was I called him about. There are definitely far worse than Dusty.
Emailing Thune or Rounds doesn’t get much of a response. I do get phone calls returned if I call, typically.
I’ve also had good luck chatting up Rounds at the Y before he got on the elliptical, haha.
I’ve called them both twice today so we’ll see how that goes. Gotta lay it on thick.

Interesting to note that nowhere in the bill does anything refer to 'affordable housing.' Anyone have an idea of what specific lands they are looking at?

Last go around, in the house version, I emailed about leaving public lands public. His team sent the following back.

Can't say I've ever called any of them though. Tend to use email but maybe phone call does more good?

Maybe anything that someone wants to introduce a bill for?

H.R.3937 - To provide for the conveyance of certain Federal land in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, and for other purposes.

Or maybe they’re just going to start introducing individual bills and flood the zone. Popular strategy of late.

Senators Marshall, Moran and Congressman Estes emailed.

PS: shot one off to Lee as well
I did as well. I hope it does something, but I've written marshall in the past on both public land and veterans issues and nothing. I hope it at least gives them a pulse on th3 issue though.
I also wrote thune too.

Land Tawney is on Grounded with Jon Tester today breaking it down.
Co-written by Daines, full carve out for MT so he can vote for it.
To sell our lands where there is no infrastructure or populations.
A total ruse.
For tax breaks for corps. and uber weathy, for kick backs.

Here is the email I sent to Senator Risch of Idaho with the link from big fins podcast, thank for all you do Randy.

Dear Senator James E. Risch
As someone who enjoys public lands I respectfully ask you to remove Subtitle C-lands from the big beautiful bill. This goes against the American way of life. These public lands need to be protected because they are important to so many people in our great state of Idaho and throughout the country. Selling these will not solve any of the budget problems, just loose an asset that will hurt our country. I vote and have never been very active in politics, but this is one thing that will motivate me to become very active to protect and campaign for those who will protect our public lands and stand up against those who want to dispose of our public lands. I hope you will stand up for public lands and keep the big beautiful bill about the budget not for someone to add their wishes through a back door. You have the power to make me a stanch supporter or an advocate against you. Please don’t throw away or public lands. Sincerely Albert Cason

I've been hitting those two daily for awhile now. I don't even get a canned response. Going to be real hard to vote for them in the future if they go the wrong way on this.

I've reached out to all my congressmen. Got a couple fluff responses so we will see.

For this Not Being a Drill, and maybe it is a tired subject, it's weird and troubling to me that I don't see a peep about it from RMEF, MDF, WSF, and other big hitters. Maybe they are waiting for it to move further along, or maybe they are working behind the scenes, but if the assumption that constituents reaching out to their congressfolk could make a difference is true, I'd think they would be leveraging the voices of their membership. Maybe I am missing something, but is this or is this not a big damn deal?

The ones with great views and will go for a high price for second and third homes. Dont worry, its going to the other guys fault theres not affordable house from this bill, so theyll try again selling more public land.
Im not one for weighing into political party ideals but I feel the Republicans agenda this administration doesn't care what most Americans want, there all about donors and big businesses and making the average person a useful idiot.

I don't live in one of the western states with "R" Senators, but I hunt Wyoming's public lands every year, so I just emailed the Chamber of Commerce and WYOGA, two groups of influence whose constituents do vote in WY and rely heavily on public lands for their revenue.

Going about my business at work, thinking about how cool it would be to give a certain Senator from Utah a guided tour and back country camping experience in a couple of local drainages with a high saturation level of grizzly bears. As the guest of honor he would be gifted with bacon pants as his hiking outfit and a bacon sleeping bag for the overnight camp out. 😏
Train station.
