New tool...7mm Mashburn Super Magnum

Transacted for with a fellow hunttalker...some honest and capable folks to deal with here. First test loads this morning w/ 160 Nosler AB's, 67 gr 7828SSC, WLRM, 3.450 OAL (.050 off lands) to zero the VXR 4x12x40 provided by Schmalts. Rifle heartbeat is a Rem 700 LA trued with a 26" fluted Lilja, Timney trigger, McMillan Classic Edge bedded...weighs 7 lbs 4 unloaded as pictured....robust recoil but excellent balance... looking fwd to fine tuning the loads in time for Colorado first rifle EE. Will be sizing and fire forming 300 H&H Norma brass for hunting ammo...hope to hang with the 160 Accubonds.

Purple fluted Mashburns are pretty much the coolest thing ever and their owners tend to be of sharp wit and good looks.

I have only ever seen one other purple fluted Mashburn, but that one seemed to work pretty nice.....can't say a lot about the looks of the owner though....

That is a great looking rifle. Fantastic scope selection also! Now post a couple pictures of the Mashburn alongside the regular old 7mm Remington mag so we can get a size comparison.
